Does power die in neutral, i.e. revving up to over 3000rpm? Does it happen in all gears? Is it fuel injected? (I think it's carburetted). Does it cut out more when engine is hot or cold?
Without knowing more about the symptons/seeing it, I'd possibly be looking at an ignition problem either associated with the igniter box or some form of engine management system. Obviously it's easier to identify a fault in person because you can usually tell straight away whether it's fuel or electric related.
Is it black? If it is, you can black out the windows and cruise around in your "pimp-mobile" looking cool.
Perhaps even sell it in the paper as a cruiser and some silly Chav/Ned will pay top dollar.
I had a 1983 280 ce and the only problem it had was turning right (kept clunking). I had to figure a whole new route to work which contisted of only left hand turns.
