Is it really any different meeting via the net than any other way of meeting? Do You think that you get to know someone better via the net than you would if for example you met them in the pub ?

It always seems to be frowned upon if you say you met your partner via this medium more than any other. fair or not ?

I have my own personal views on this matter but i am interested to know what others think.

Hi there Julie - long time no see!
I don't think it matters HOW someone meets another. the stigma that used to be attached to dating sites and so on are fast disappearing, as more and more people use the internet for social reasons.
I personally know of 2 people who've met their partners this way, and both are now happily married to their respective other halves. The only difference from meeting in person, is that sometimes the person you're talking to on a website might be nothing like they're pretending to be, so hopes may be dashed, but you know what they say - if at first.......
well whatever works for both. The only thing about face to face is you get more of a real sense and gut feeling about the person. Cyberspace doesnt allow for that and so it may be harder to detect if someone is being dishonest
Totally agree with you there pink. By not actually meeting someone personally at first, a person's liable to get carried away on the fantasy of what might be.
Dingo should know about meeting on the internet, lol.
I think its OK, as you can chat more honestly on the net rather than face to face if you met in a club or pub with a few drinks down you.

Is this newbie DingoDavey somebody under a different name who I think he is, I think you know who I mean?
Who DO you mean???

Far too manmy weirdos online.
And easy to lie about partners/wifes etc when its text.

Avoid online relationships , especially the guys as most guys ive seen on here for example looking for women are at best weirdos and at worst i dread to think.

Easy to compliment online youre lovely yadda yaddda my world yawn .

Nope and yes i would think it weird that they hadnt met someone elsewhere.

Does that make me wrong or bad i wonder?

?? DID THAT HELP ??
And ive known a few attached on here spent more time schmooozin with any female interested rather than their partner.

I call that weird.

Some may say its just banter.
Wonder if the partners would see it that way?And if they did then for how long.

Hope that has helped??
