Given leave to stay

This is possibly not the best place to post this, but here goes:
People from within the EEA can live and work anywhere within the area, including in the UK. Others need a permit (a visa, say) to do so apart from short stays for tourist purposes. Quite a few years ago, the nationality to whom the largest number of such UK permits (leave to stay permanently) were issued was American (US). This may have changed, but where can I locate statistics as to where different nationalities now come on the list ? This is quite separate from the granting of citizenship.
