Hi my elederly aunt told me to look out for a plant (climber) common name the 10 commandments, I have looked every where and asked in the garden centre no body seems to know any thing about it ie; botanicle name even, any one got any ideas.cheers whf

Probably known by a different name in the U.K., because Erythroneura here in the U.S. isn't a vining plant... take a look here: http://www.centralfloridafarms.com/indoor.htm and scroll down to the name...

I have found that maranta is sometimes called the ten commandments, it isn't hardy outdoors in the Uk and not a climber as such but will hng down from a hanging basket

This is a lateral thinker's answer! It may be that your elderly aunt is thinking of another climber which has many biblical references to it and that is the passion flower. They grow easily in Britain and are hardy. I maybe wrong, but I am elderly and I get muddled!

Another name would be The Prayer Plant ie: Maranta.
