sweet strawberries

I bought some strawberries called Irisistable, which were advertized as the sweetest strawberry I'd ever eat!, well what a let down, they're awful, with no smell or taste. Can anyone recommend some for next year?

There are several exceptional varieties here in the U.S. that may or may not be available in the U.K. But, before you trash the ones you are now growing try squezzing some lemon juice on the berries just after picking. Don't wash them afterward adding the lemon juice and leave the caps and stems on untio ready to eat... By the way, real lemon juice from real lemons is best rather than the bottled kind...
