.. just read your question from yesterday - thought I'd better transfer it here, although 'odd innit' may still be an appropriate title.
Supraventricular tachycardia Sqad. Had them since I was 12, though getting progressively worse & more frequent. Just upped medication because I was beginning to have near-fainting episodes & weird vision preceding the SVTs. Not a good thing when you're driving....! Saw a private consultant cos of my imminent holiday, & being away from land. Don't particularly agree with private medicine, but Pug insisted on it.
I think in the future, when medication no longer controls it or it becomes too much of a hindrance, I will have to have a cardiac ablation procedure. Not major heart surgery... so not too concerned, and hey - it proves I do actually have a heart!!!!

Or the valsalva manoevre, or plunging my face in cold water. so, the consultant suggested if I'm out at sea - to just jump overboard. Silly man. If I did that, Cap'n would be the one having the heart attack.
I saw a Dr Mates sqad. Polish chap; very good. (Quite dishy, so my pulse was probably up!!)
I go away early hours of tomorrow morning.

The Bostonian cos it was private, but he works from Lincoln, Grantham & Boston I think.
I also find the carotid massage thingy useful at stopping it, but get a bit scared at that sometimes - the idiot who first told me about that one at my first reported attack at 21 (I'd just given birth - although I'd had them since 12, I'd never told anyone cos I didn't want to worry my parents!!) - never told me to only press hard onto one side of my neck. I did both - felt very strange......!
