go to library - ask them
diferent libraries have different books
I've been a commercial pillot longer than I'd care to remember and a book that was the Gold Standard many years ago is still considered to be the best all inclusive tome written on the subject... if you can find one, Stick and Rudder by Wolfgang Langewiesche, ia well worth the effort. You don't say how old the reader is likely to be. While clear and concise, this isn't a child's book...

Blue Skies!
Whatever book you get try and find one that actually explains the correct way how planes fly! (not the incorrect but normally accepted air travels faster over the top of the wings causing low pressure cop out they teach in schools... AKA the principle of equal transit times)
see if your library can get hold of a copy of "Stop Abusing Bernoulli! - How Airplanes Really Fly" by Gale M. Craig
The Way Things Work by David Macauley is an excellent book (for children too) to explain how many things work in this fascinating world.
