ex-boyfriend wants money
I split up with my boyfriend recently. Over a year ago we were due to move in together and incurred some valuation and solicitors fees for a potential house purchase. I pulled out because my boyfriend wasn't very nice to my son and I got worried I was going to put my son in a relationship he wouldn.t be happy with. I paid less of the costs than my boyfriend, but he insisted he paid the larger figure. Now we have split up he said he is going to take me to court for half of the fees he paid. There was never any discussion about paying this money back should we split. Has anyone got any advice or experience of this scenario? PS we never lived together, never had joint finances or anything and I certainly paid half of all the going out costs.

He had no proof and was told he would be laughed at for taking me to court over such a small amount. I don't think he would of had the balls to do it anyway, he was just chancing his arm to see what he could get out of me and was annoyed because I was taking him to court to get an order.
If I were you I would tell him to carry on and take you to court if he wants to because I bet any money he doesn't do it. It would cost him just as much in solicitor fees. Does he have any proof of how much he paid?

Thanks for your responses - it was stressing me out as I spent over 3000 going out with him over the last 18 months so have no money left. He does have proof he paid the fees and I have evidence of what I paid, but there was definitely no agreement or discussion. He sent me another text last night saying he doesn't want me to think he's ignoring me but it will be a few weeks before the 'paperwork' gets sorted out so I think he is playing mind games because I looked up the small claims court procedures and it only takes about 2 weeks to get the ball rolling. I've contacted CAB this morning as well and they say he doesn't have a leg to stand on because we had no agreement in place. I'm going to change my mobile number and cut him out.
You're right I do wonder what I saw in him, but it did wear within 18 months!!
Thank you all.

tell him to jog on, but not before laughing at him extensively, telling him to prove it and the reason you dumped him was that he was a c***. and he proving it by behaving the way he is. change your mobile number to stop him sending you texts that will wind you up. or, just delete them before you read them. do not under any circumstances reply or say anything that he could use against you. sounds like a complete worm...
