When I try to play certain files on my computer, a message comes up to say that because the file is ( .htl) it cannot play it and also says that the "codex " may be wrong.
Can anyone give me any guidance in simple terms please because I am an computer idiot.

I don't think htl is a movie format, but I know sod all.

I answered in case you had the same problem I have occasionally. I know the files are there and legit, but sometimes after selecting the video, it says it cannot play them. By accident I found that by hitting the play button, they will play after all.

Only thing I can suggest, as it may be codecs causing it, try playing using VLC media player (Free, if you haven't got it). This usually plays most things
.htl isnt a normal file type for anything I know, a check on google and it seems .htl is used for a programming language!

Are you sure it's not .html ?

If so thats a web-page, not a movie or sound file so it won't play in WMP

As for your codec problem i use divx which is free and i have not had a problem since.
