my tomato plants are about 5feet tall with several trusses of fruits can i start removing some of the underneath leaf arms coming out of the main stem?

Hi,

I've just seen this.

Yes cut the bottom leaves as soon as the first fruit appears and then "prune" the plant so that it can be "aired" and to allow the sun to get to the fruit. Don't cut all of the leaves, leave about 50%.
