Can anyone help. I have my camera setting to take sports pics. Some of my pics are overexposed. Can anyone explain what I am doing wrong? I assume the setting is preset. Or should I set it to `P` and take the pics?

Thanks

Set it to Normal or Auto if you have these settings. Then try 'P'. You are obviously letting in too much light,ie:the shutter speed is too slow,so increase it slightly.
sports are arguably one of the most difficult subjects to photograph and require as high a shutter speed as the light conditions allow to give a reasonable depth of field

however - you don't say which lens, iso etc you are using - which sport(s) you are taking pictures of
so it's impossible to say anything more than you're over exposing the shot

with a camera like the (i guess you mean a 450d) why on earth are you using presets at all?

it's not a snapshot camera by any means ...
best advice is to get down to the library or a bookshop and get an introductory and an intermediate level manual.

learn the basics of setting up a shot - you'll be amazed what a difference it makes
