I posted a thread yesterday

suggesting that the Daily Star crossword was a bit simple

and that needing to seek help on Q&P was amusing.

Well ... I apologise.

I have, today, bought a copy of the Daily Star.

Some of the clues are harder than I expected.

For instance ...

10a. Batman's accomplice (5) R_B_N

17a. Freshwater fish (4) C_RP

27a. A spirit drink (3) G_N

11d. Stinging insect (4) W_SP

So, erm ... quite challenging then ...

... and I was wrong to tease.

I'm sorry.

Ahaaahhhhh ...

It's "Trible Clown"

L O L

Ooh, crikey ... I don't think we can use the word "trib" until a bit later ...

(watershed, and all that)

Actually, there's a bit of a "Daily Star" clue in today's Guardian.

6d. "Harris put up a list of local plant life" (5) _ _ _ _ _

(Answer, obviously = "FLORA")
well done JJ....I'd never have got that....

craft ...

Okay, okay ... I set myself up for getting teased, there.

I think from now on, any really simple ones (like "flora") will be known as Daily Star Clues.
''I don't think we can use the word "trib" until a bit later''

More likely to be ''clam jousting'' in the Daily Star...
