Also say i didnt like it? what would be an easy way to get the curls out?

You can get a pre-raphaelite look http://www.studia.no/bookcovers/978/1/8/5/4/3/ 7/9781854377265.jpg by plaiting your hair as above, or you could have ringlets which you can do by putting your hair in rags using setting lotion. There's a couple of helpful websites here

And the easiest way to get rid of waves or curls or ringlets if you don't like them is to wash your hair!

Getting curls out is no problem if you just wash your hair and curl/kink it via any of the above methods. The curls have usually dropped out of their own accord by the end of the day in any case, but yes, if you don't like them, just wash your hair.
The only way you'll get permanent curls is if you use perm solution - and don't do that yourself if you haven't done it before. There's loads that can go wrong. Go to a reputable hairdresser and get it done properly.

The way I do a lot of curls in the salon (Toni & Guy Stylist) is to use GHD straighteners... or any really good/hot brand... Take a section of hair about 1 inch by 1 inch and close the straighteners close to the root, then flip the straigteners around straight away almost like when you curl ribbon with scissors! Then slowely move the straighteners down the length of the hair.. making sure you take the end right through.. its a little tricky and you have to be quite fast so that you dont get creases in the hair...
Good luck
