I bought my Desktop PC from PC World about 2 years ago and paid �50 for installation by an independent installer appointed by PC World. This was to make sure that if there was a fault with the equipment, they could not put the blame on me i.e I messed things up during installation which would have affected the Guarantee.
My Hardware was fine, but Installation Engineer did not install my Printer properly and I had to re-install myself after he left.
I complained to PC World Head Office and they refunded �20 of installation Fee.
Tell your Friend to ring PC World Head Office and complain about the problem and do not be fobbed off by excuses as the Equipment was bought in good faith with all Software installed properly as should have been the case.
They should replace the Laptop and send it back to the manufacturer who installed the Software from Microsoft in the first place !!
