I think the operative word is 'live' if you're in a position whereby you need round the clock attention, then it must be quite difficult to have known so many years and not be able to tell your stories, be who you once were and suffer the loss of your brothers, sisters and most probably, children - even grandchildren.
It makes me wonder if it would be a blessing or not. But, who wants to die? :o/
