AND TOLD ME HIS gf HAS BLOODY SWINE FLU!!! he's assuring me she is fine but after all that worry last night about it i can't believe he's just said that!! I have anunderactive thyroid and so i do get run down and bad colds grrrrr ok folks tell me not to panic!!!

Dot, firstly, don't panic.

Secondly, has your son actually had a blood test since that is the only way SF can be properly diagnosed.

Thirdly if he HAS, just make a call to the doctors and see if you will be able to get Tamiflu which at least reduces the symptoms.

Finally, I was just posting on Knobbys thread that I am so pleased that you sorted things out. Hats off to the pair of you.

also i don't know overly much about swine flu but i thought that people who have caught it are brought into hospital for a while and aren't allowed visitors no?

No Azrael - in many cases people recover from it quite normally as they would with ordinary flu. Not every case results in hospital or death.

And Dot, look on the bright side, the SF kicking around now is probably not going to be as bad as it will be by autumn.

Actually the older you are, the more chance you have of fighting it off as you've had more chance of building up resistance.

Dot hope everything will be ok. Ask your son to be tested sure with your medical history shouldn't be a problem.
