Thanks, grasscarp. I really don't know. I have trawled the internet for things that happened in 1936, and can't find anything that really fits. These two ditloids are beginning to get on my nerves, but I don't like sending quizzes in with gaps.

8 metres wide for a finish in Slalom (although it seems to apply to snowboarding as well so take your pick). I have been thinking about your problem while driving home and with that and a bit of google came up with this.
