Me, too. I felt rather daft and assumed this was a word I just didn't know.

Coey, if you mean ear plugs, I use them often. Have to peal the giant bell at church from time to time and the ear plugs come in quite handy.

There is a type of earplug specially designed for use on planes (designed to stop the horrible 'popping'), I remember seeing them advertised on TV a few years ago but have never used them.
