jojo...positive empathy to me means compassion. Negative empathy means ,to me, lack of compassion or understanding or indeed concern.

Do you mean sharing the emotions of another's joy (positive empathy) versus sharing the emotions of anothers misfortune (negative empathy)?

If its a professional situation, you should be able to share in both of the emotions and be able to 'hold' the feelings of both ...
