somewhere to take the kids

im looking at taking my kids to whistable for the day via train does anyone know if theres much on dwn there for the children?
or if anyone has any other ideas where to go via train bearing in mind i live in rochester,kent so do not want to travel for a long time

how long is too long to travel ? Margate is an hour by train and a really family child friendly place, but if the children are very young might be bit of a long journey for them depending if they travel well .
