I don't drive but have a young toddler son. We go out (sometimes with his pram/buggy, sometimes with him walking) usually twice a day - a walk to the store on the other side of the village, and a walk to the park, or the scenic route around the village. I walk to Mothers and Toddlers too. If we go to the local town, I do take the bus, as it's really too far. I reckon I must do easily 10,000 steps a day, and I'm going to borrow or buya pedometer to check this out. I feel so much better for gettign out and about, and my son just loves it - so much to see and do, and you can't stop to smell the flowers, or watch horses etc if you're whizzing by in a car or bus.
