is it easy to grow around a door frame also is the smell plesant have seen a pic and thought it was very pretty

It takes wisteria years to grow as you have seen it in pictures and also rather difficult and needing a strong wall to support it against a house. Just admire other persons efforts.
Yes, it takes at least seven years to flower and sometimes much longer.That's why not many people have the patience to wait....it isn't always successful or reliable either.
There is a new type of Wisteria on the market called Amethyst Falls and it says it grows on the first year - and it also flowers twice... My original Wisteria took about 4 years to grow and I bought an Amethyst Falls last year and it flowered this year..
pps... Also it does smell lovely and you can grow it as a standard i.e. a tree - not necessarily up a wall...
