days out in the north west

Its our wedding anniversary on Tuesday and I fancy a trip out somewhere but not travelling to far, we live in the North West (Manchester) has anyone any good suggestions.

How about a trip to the Royal Exchange theatre in Manchester! I've just booked for me & my other half for 'Everybody loves a winner' with Sally Lindsey for tomorrows matinee performance!

Blackpool is the last place I would advise anyone to go for an anniversary celebration,especially at the moment with all the roadworks and demolition in the town centre.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions they were all very helpful. We finished up going to Trentham Gardens and visited the monkey forrest it was fabulous and we were lucky enough to have fine weather for a few hours. We are going to visit Quarry bank Mill on Sunday, so thanks again everyone.
