Why can you not refill a bottle of bottled water? Or not use it for any other purpose than that for which it was originally intended?

erm, i re use mine, but i dont drink my tap water, blurgh! i buy spring water from sainsburys or tesco that is 18p for a 2 litre bottle and refill my bottles (small) using this!
I always refuse mine - I have a water filter and refill them from that.
That should be reuse not refuse, obviously!
The main reason is simply because they want you to buy more of their water.  I suppose that the company providing the bottle could claim "passing off" by refilling the bottle but i really can't see much of a case.
