How do I get hold of a copy of my yts qualification from when I attend Macclesfield college in 1985 as the college holds no records going back that far?

A YTS was not done at College, it was a scheme where young people went to work for a slave wage of �27.30 per week (well it was in 1985 when I did one!)

You may have done some other qualification at College but a YTS wasn't a qualification in itself.

I am surprised thatbthe college dont have a copy...if they dont then they should advise you how to get one as it must still be on a database somewhere. I recently contacted my old college - I left in 1985 - and they gave me an address of where to get hold of a copy of my certificate, although it was not a YTS course. Good luck.

The YTS was done partly in college and partly with companies who signed up to provide "opportunity" for youth to gain workplace skills, while receiving education. I think it was 2-3 days a week in college and the other days in the office. You may want to contact an exam or school board. And yes, cheeky chops, your answer was not entirely wrong... it was a means to exploit the young, and use them as slave labor!!!
