To his credit was his co-operation with the police, his 'evident remorse', his pleas of guilty and previous good character.

That meant he would not be jailed indefinitely, even though the pre-sentence report made it clear he posed 'a high risk of harm to children'.

He would also be recommended for deportation. 'Recommended for deportation'?????????

He should have been put on the first available flight back to Pakistan.

Providing there's 100% certainty of his guilt, and I don't think there;s any doubt, a fitting punishment would be just to execute him. then send his remaims back to his home country.

I can give you some idea about how long he might have stayed in prison had he been deported. Not too long. Because right or wrong but in Pakistan these sort of people are usually killed by some individuals. Even in the prison.

well yes either longer sentence to fit the crime or else deport him. Why should the tax payer fund his detainment in the UK. Given his jo and the posseible untold damage he could have caused if not discovered his sentence is way too leniant and in no way assissts in the protection of children in the future

I like the way the sentence was given, on the grounds of that he "co-operated" with the police. Well he would, wouldn't he, once caught. That judge's given out lenient ones before. He should've been deported immediately, or given double the time - at least.

It seems strange that we were caught dumping our rubbish in Brazil but we allow scum to enter and live here. The government took action on the former but not the latter. If other countries acted as we have done he would have been thrown out and let him serve his sentence elsewhere.

We have enough paedophiles of our own.

I have an inkling that in the future he will fight any deportation ruling by saying that his life would be in danger should he return to Pakistan...
