I'm looking to create an Iphone app... does anyone have any suggestions about what might be useful to have that hasn't already been done?

One idea I've been thinking about implementing: a decent app for the google services; perhaps a good app for google docs.
Or a custom email app for Gmail only.
You'll have to check the API T&Cs, but can probably use it on a mobile app as you want.
Why I haven't bothered taking these ideas further: the uncertainty around the app store, and Apple's treatment of devs.

Google it :)
In summary, it's hard to get a decent app in the app store, and if apple refuse your app (after perhaps months of working on it), they just say 'sorry, no', without giving a good reason.
Case in point: someone wrote a (rather good) dictionary app; it was rejected because it contained swear words (like screw...!!).
It's just insane.
