Discoloured yellow gold...
A year ago I lost a 9ct yellow gold ring, but today I found it in the fluff filter of my washing machine!!
However, after I cleaned the ring with washing-up liquid and water I have found that the gold is very pale, almost a white colour. Before the ring was lost it was a very vivid and definite yellow.
Also in the fluff drawer was a 20p and 1p piece, could they have caused the gold to discolour? How can I restore it? Thanks!
