I pay my rent in advance and told my landlady at the end of last month that I want to give her 1 months notice as required. Is it right that that means I leave the end of the month?

Did you pay a deposit?

But yea....to the question. You've paid until the end of the month.
well you said that you want to give her notice at the end of the month. did you actually do it at the end of last month ?

Yeah I gave written notice at the end of last month so I think that means I stay til end of this month but I get a bit confused so thought I would check on here.

Yeah ummmm I paid 100 deposit and I will get that back.
well if you get that confused, then if i were your landlady i would say you have to stay until the end of august 2010 and pay 12 months in advance.

is it really that confusing ?
Without wanting to state the obvious here, you can leave when you wish, you don't have to wait, the place would still be yours, if just a little empty until your tenancy runs out.
''is it really that confusing ?''

To karma it obviously was... which is why she asked the question... and now she has the answer.

''ok, well in that case i am leaving answerbank tomorrow.''
