Signing up to Virgin non-cable broadband
5 Answers
Has anyone else had problems in switching to Virgin non-cable broadband?
I have spent the last two evenings trying to transfer from Orange (who have just raised their prices) to Virgin. I've been on the Virgin site and completed all the pages in their form, entered my MAC code and each time I attempt to pay using my credit card, a message appears saying there is an error.
Then I get the dreaded support line number which surprise surprise is in the Philippines - and here my troubles really began. None of the operators I spoke during the three calls I made could understand basic English, and in the end I just hung up and headed for the whiskey bottle!
Anyone got any similar experiences with Virgin, or can you suggest another good provider? So far I've sacked NTL, Tiscalli, and now Orange, and BT look ok but a bit pricey.

I don't want to change providers chuck, but Tiscali suffered a denial of service attack which left me without business email so I had to change PDQ, and my current provider Orange have just informed all their customers they are putting their prices up by 5 a month. In these hard financial times, that's an invitation to leave in my book.
