Can anyone tell me what stovies are, at school in the early 60's (showing my age here) we got them on a wed at dinner school and they were awful, i seem to remember it was just mashed potato with all sorts of veg mixed through, talking about this in the pub last week ( exciting stuff) we had at least half a dozen variations, anyone know a good recipe? doug.
