Hello ChatterBankers, I'd be interested in hearing your opinions on this. I'm a Swede living in Sweden. The other day a Brit named James Savage, managing editor of The Local (a site with Sweden's news written in English) appeared in a radio interview over here to explain what ASBOs are - we don't hav'em here. While I would love the opportunity to have one issued for the people having barbies right under my window >:-< I must say I was puzzled by the whole concept. Seems like a dangerous path to me. What are your opinions? I should say I'm not here to debate the matter, I'm just interested in the pros and cons as you see them.

That's it, Dai.

Smack 'em till they're dead. Child abuse - never hurt any child.

Yes MWB you are absolutely right, I wasn't trying to excuse "them", I'm a strong believer in abiding by the law. I'm just thinking that IF I were them... an ASBO would make me even more defiant, by excluding me from "fairness".

Attitude, Sqad? I honestly don't know what you mean. Does ^^ mean something I didn't know it meant, ha ha... I meant "look above you, I've already answered your question"...
They are the ones not being fair, swede.

They're not adhering to the law & the government is trying a way to control it. Perhaps it's not working as well as it could, but it's worth a try.

As I said I'm a strong believer in abiding by the law and I am NOT saying that breaking the law should not be punished.
swedeheart....no idea what you are talking about or your hieroglyphics.

I should say I'm not here to debate the matter

You are doing a pretty good job.

Ha ha yes I was just noticing that myself Sqad
Precisely .The law here is not fair .A murderer who takes a life gets "life " . ..15 years and hes out again. That is not life .
A rapist ..ten years ? Out to probably rape again .It has been known .The punishment should fit the crime and these days it doesn't while you have silly old judges who should have been put out to grass years ago and are just on the circuit for the money .
Asbo for anti social behaviour? Mostly no hopers on benefits ,wears his Asbo with pride and then carries on in the same way until they finally catch up with 'em and bang up properly .Makes my blood boil .
Short sharp Borstal in my day :)
We are far too lenient with these little thugs who rampage around making law abiding citzens lives a misery.
It's the bleeding heart liberals who won't allow the law to be modified.

The asbos are law, swede.

So how is it you would wear one with pride?

MWB I have done my best to explain what I meant by that.
Fact?

Lol. You do make me laugh. That can't be proved so can't be fact. You are stupid & ignorant - a dangerous combination.

Anyway, it's 1.06am here. I've got to go to bed.

Ka kite ano, all.
