MM Links Solutions August 2009 [Week 2]

I have just come in after a day's work in the garden to check the MM entries for the second week in the reign of Pope Adrian aka twix123 and am astounded to see just how many marks you lot have picked up. Even with the Trusty Abacus working at double pace, it will take quite some time to process all the marks ~ so you may have to be patient. Let me begin by declaring his chosen Link Words under the theme of Down on the Farm. They are:

Pig IRON
Straw POLL
Wool SACK
Milk SHAKE

In direct contrast with last week, the early birds came in for some rich pickings. Opening the attack was Roslyn with WOOL SACK, Grenmus with PIG IRON and ulysses100 with STRAW POLL ~ each scoring TWO POINTS.

In fact PIG IRON proved a popular source of a bonus point for lysander, Dustybun & miss meg. Not to be outdone, Christiana & centrino got in two early hits and each scoring FOUR POINTS. However, even they were outshone by tearinghair who not only scored FOUR POINTS but found MILK SHAKE (the last remaining Link Word!

All these were eclipsed by beejay1124, who made THREE hits within the time limit to register SIX POINTS. This is the first time in quite a while that this has been achieved and I therefore have great pleasure in announcing him HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!

Before I start my processing of scores, let me just mention the entries of Jim&Jools which arrived at 09.42am. Between the two of them, they managed to cover all four link words, showing that they were truly on the money! Well done you two!
