I have some codeine. Would this help with the immense pain of a broken tooth or would holding water with soluble aspirin in it in my mouth be better?
Can't get to a dentist till tomorrow.

You can mix it with Ibuprofen for really severe pain, but I'm not sure of the quantities.
If you've already been taking the aspirin (which sometimes works, but it depends on the pain and the individual), then allow four hours before you take the codeine, just to be on the safe side.
You have my sympathy, MWB - I've been there many times. Hope you get on OK tomorrow.

Ive been suffering with same thing on and off for couple of months. When it starts it really hurts,Ive got 30ml codeine tabs from my dad, they help a bit.I find Ibuprofen better 400mg called Cuprofen they are only brand that does 400mg.
They take a while to kick in about 30mins but help a lot and seem to last a long time.
hope this helps,its a b@stard toothache!!

in lieu of squad - you should NEVER suck aspirin
certainly not because of a broken tooth - aspirin is dangerous stuff . .. it's soluble for a reason - too much of it causes ulcers .... blah blah
codeine ... now that's what I call pain relief !
have you tried chewing gum?
might or might not work depending on what's exposed - but chewed tasteless - it keeps the air out - and is easy for dentist to clean out.
I broke a tooth the day I was admitted - a nurse gave me horse tranquiliser and gum - next day wife brought in some temp filling - and gum - managed 12 days with paracetomol and without crying (much)......
