I was sad to learn of John Hughes death at the age of 59. He was a fantastic writer/director and I loved his films.
People of a 'certain age' :P may have a favourite film of his, mine are Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Buellers day off, Planes Trains & Automobiles, Uncle Buck, Home Alone, Weird Science and Some kind of Wonderful.

Anyone else like his films?

Hi sallabananas, you're not wrong there! Mickey Rourke was gorgeous. I love him in Rumblefish as well as the very lovely Matt Damon who seems to get more handsome with age doesn't he? :P
