This is not a 'chat' site - it's for exchange of information and opinions - which is why people don't usually 'chat' in the way that users do on other sites.

A 'thread' is a connected series of posts - as is this - it's an expression used on this type of site.

No-one minds anyone asking questions and giving answers, that's the purpose of the site, but simply looking for attention is not going to get you very far on here, and you would be better advised to use Facebook or Twitter, where like-minded people will chat with you.

You are as welcome on here as anyone, but be aware of the type of site this is, the people who use it regularly, and whether this really suits your needs at the moment.
