In the 1970s there would have been two outdoor paddling pools in Skegness. If you arrived on the seafront by walking down the main shopping street, and turned right (walking across the big car park at that point) you'd soon come to the Fairy Dell paddling pool. It's still there and it's recently been revamped.

The other seafront paddling pool was reached by turning to the left when you arrived at the seafront. You'd walk past the fairground areas, and the bowling greens before coming to the pool, which was just before the gardens where visors could take small boats around the 'river'. The pool was plainer than Fairy Dell (with no fountain) and much less popular. I don't know whether it's still there. (It's probably not; I know that a great deal of redevelopment has happened at that end of Skeggy).

I've just found this link which refers to the 'other' paddling pool as the Sunshine Paddling Pool, which has been closed and developed into a garden feature. There's also more about the Fairy Dell pool:
