green grasshopper thingy

help..... i keep finding green grasshopper type insects in my bathroom at night .the strange thing is they have red eyes and when you pick them up .their tail sort of curls downwards as if to sting you any 9ideas what they are.....thanks lee

Sounds like lacewings, they're completely harmless...don't kill them, catch them under a glass & put them back in the garden. Their larvae eat all kinds of baddies, aphids, thrips etc.

I think it might be the Oak Bush cricket, tamiya.

We had one the other night and although perfectly harmless the long waving antenna and lurid green colour does make them look a bit scary. It's a nocturnal cricket and attracted to lights, so it's the one mostly found lurking in bathrooms! Here's a pcture:
