design for women
What features should a car specifically designed for women have, serious and not so serious answers welcomed.
For a start, perhaps the gear knob should be marked as having five gears - but in reality the fifth is just a blank, and so the car actually gets to go in top gear.

For your information I'm very much interested in cars, enjoy driving and since passing my test nearly 2 years ago have had no accidents or even a scrape. I can park as well as any other man and can't see why my car should be any different dependant on my gender.
Having said that, there are many worrying drivers around, but they tend to be either young and wearing baseball caps or old and wearing flatcaps.
I think these drivers should be forced to put some sort of identifier on their own cars so everyone knows the driver is incapable of handling anything larger than a wheelbarrow or shopping trolley.
I'd like a car that was designed for the shorter lady (or indeed man!). I'm just under 5 foot and buying a car is a nightmare. There are so many cars where I can't even reach the pedals. Or I can reach the pedals, but am dangerous close to the wheel. I also find the seat belt cuts into my neck because it's too high up for me. Or I have trouble seeing out of the back window. The list goes on and on.
I don't want a car with flower holders or room for stilettos, I just want a car which wasn't designed with someone 5'8" in mind!
