dpc
I had a new DPC installed by a company local to me, it failed within 12 months. The guy came back and re-injected obviously removing skirting that he had replaced, re-replacement of that skirting was not covered under the 25 year not worth a toss guarantee. It has since failed again. The guy returned and brought a representative of the the manufacturer of the product he has " Used for years with no problem" The rep says it was my fault for plastering behind the skirting. I didn't know that I wasn't supposed to do that, if the guarantee was worth the paper it was written on it would have ensured that the complete job was re-done and covered such remedial work. Question is, how difficult is it to replace a DPC by DIY, what methods are best suited to a 1900 mid terrace and what cost is potentially involved as I certainly cannot afford to pay another cowboy a further 1500.
Thanks in advance.
PS Please don't advise getting the guy back in to re-do the work he screwed as I would not let him in the front door, during our last meeting I told him and his "Rep" colleague to get out and not bother coming back!
