Would a full blood count test indicate that you may have cancer, I know it can indicate cancers of the blood but just wondering if it can give you an indication of other cancers that may be present.
Lazy Gun will give you a more full answer, but FBC would give an indication of a blood dyscrasia ( blood cancer) but that is excluded in your question.
The direct answer is NO, a FBC would not directly indicate malignant disease, BUT it might show a iron deficiency anaemia which MIGHT indicate blood loss from a cancer. It would not be specific for malignant disease, but taken with the patient@s others symptoms may well arouse suspicion of malignant disease elsewhere.
Can't better that answer sqad :) - For cancers other than leukaemias, a standard Full Blood Count will offer little information of the presence or otherwise of other types of neoplasms.
