my friends pregnant daughter has been sentenced t 15 months on a section 20. The probation reports were against a custodial sentance. Will she be able to apply to come home on a tag after a few months or will she have to serve at least seven months

For that length of sentence she will serve only half of it and if she is permitted to be released on tag that will be for the last three months of the half she serves - so if she does seven and a half months she will get her tag after four and a half months - they also deduct time spent at the police station or on remand from the sentence.

Prior to getting a tag they will ask her questions etc and take her behaviour in custody into account.
