Coming back from the sunny side of the duckpond this lunchtime I was listening to Fenella Fudge reading the news on Radio 2.
Now - there's a name that if you didn't know was real, you'd think was made up.

Bobbi Joy - she may not really be cross-eyed, it could be just unfortunate that the particular photo they've used on the bbc website makes her look that way. Bless her.
I'd better be careful what I say - if she's reading I don't want her to give me 'the finger' ................ (of fudge, geddit?) Aaarrrggghhhh

Bobbi Joy - 'You can take a horse to water, but you can't make it drink' is a song I've heard on a Jools Holland cd of mine - I think this version is sang by Jools himself along with George Harrison.
They probably got the song title from some age-old saying - maybe a John Wayne film? But, then again, that could be an absolutely rubbish assumption.

She's got a lovely voice - which is what counts.
Speaking of which - why can't they put out more of Bobbi Pryor reading the travel? She has a nice voice, does the job, doesnt try to pad her part, and doesn't think she is some sort of 'personality' like tha ludicrous Boseman woman. Apart from the fact that she looks lika a pantomime dame, she can't get through two lines of script without stumbling or swallowing, and she seems to think she can add some useful throughts to what ever is being discused at the time she comes on. Pah!

She has got a lovely voice andy - I was thinking that myself when I was listening to her. I love a deep melodic faintly (only faintly) posh voice. I really like Mariella Frostrup's husky slightly scandinavian voice also - I could listen to her reading the ingredients off a cocoa pops box and still think she sounded lovely.
