Hi everyone,
I thought this would be easy to google but am having no luck and dont know who to ask.

I have my own website and want to use some music in the background (the website is not written in flash) probably instrumental covers.

Can anyone tell me how/what copyright issues there are and how I can pay/solve this problem.

Thanks in advance

you actually might be better posting in law regarding copyright issues...

but if you are going to put music on your site then please please make it so any visitors to your site have to click on a play button to play the music, don't just make it play as soon as they goto the site.

I for one, and I know lots of other people that are the same will just click straight away from any page that forces music that's not wanted on you as soon as the page is opened.

Thanks for the reply. I know exactly what you mean. and it would only be optional. It infuriates me when I have to search for the mute button
Playing music on a web site is a bad idea.

I am often playing music or listening to the radio on my PC while surfing the web so the last thing I want is some stupid web site playing music.

Music is the easiest way I know to get me to leave a site within seconds.

If you want people to NOT stay on your site then put music on it.
