how can i make waxing more effective?

i bought some wax strips that are supposed to be good for even short hairs, needless to say they were'nt!!
Have any of you got any tips for getting the best wax?

I've just found an epilator, it is absolutely brilliant and does exactly what it says on the tin, hairs come out that are about 3-5 mils long. The first use hurts a touch but after that its fine. Hair regrowth is the same as waxing but so is the likely hood of ingrown hairs, but exfoliating regularly stops that. Can't recommend one enough.
I use nads which needs a bit of care not to make a mess but does get the short ones out. You need to exfoliate well, also make sure that your skin is clean and dry and that here is no trace of talc, oil, moisturiser or anything else that will stop the goo adhering to the hairs. This strips that you mention are very expensive and total pants
