cucumbers

i have bought a cucumber ridge burples on the label it says the cucumber can be grown in a greenhouse or outside. i have planted it outside but the label says to remove male flowers to prevent the fruit becoming bitter i thought all the flowers needed to be left on cucumbers when you grow them outside

it is suggested that you remove the flower from the cucumber once it starts to develop to avoid bitterness. Often does not make any difference, although I do remove mine.
