S.Tel Enigma Variations 876
2 Answers
Nearly there with last week's EV. Have got the clash in the grid and the instruction formed by redundant letters but don't understand "five lines to break up the two misspelt words". Please can anyone point me in the right direction.
I'm also puzzling over four last clues.
1d African people curse returning truck (5) looks like BANTU (bane less the e) but don't understand 'truck' bit.
10d Scratches are reduced in northern pools (7) looks like STREAKS but can't see why.
21a Girl in Cardiff is native of Sicily (4) I've got SIAN but don't get the 'native of Sicily' bit.
34d American president is leaving society; a rum type (5) I've got TAFIA (type of rum) but don't know where American president fits in.
Any help would be most appreciated - the first time I've attempted an EV puzzle.

It's tantalising but I'm afraid I'm not an S.Tel regular. I only got caught up in EV 876 because we had visitors last weekend who left their S.Tel behind. My normal fix is the AZED in the Observer, but the EV is very tempting....
