I would recommend vacuuming before you mop. This will make sure that all dust and dirt is removed.
I disagree with Tor, in a most respectful way of course. When vacuuming wooden floors, the dust tends to be blown about a bit and ends up on the furniture thus making the job of dusting that much harder. When mopping, one damps down the dust and it doesn't spread around the room. It's a bit of a 'chicken or egg' question though really isn't it? it's good to get philosophical about everyday jobs don't ya think?
so do you vacume your window sills? you can get them dust mops ,i think vileda do them.
I have wooden floors throughout my house, and yes I do vacuum and then mop. I also use those dust pads on a stick inbetween vacuuming which helps get rid of surface dust that settles everyday. But vacuuming gets rid of all those bits that fall in the crevices (as my floors are sanded natural wood) I'm not sure you get the crevices with laminate flooring tho!
