Dunno why, but I put some pasta in soak overnight. Warmed up it seems to taste the same as boiled pasta.
Any comments?

Am unsure why you would want to put pasta into soak overnight as most varieties are plunged into boiling water cooked for about 10 minutes.and then eaten fresh. I imagine that soaking it would make it very soggy and all sticking together before you cook it .

It looked and tasted no different from when cooked, except that it was cold Try it!
Save on energy; save on boiling over; and time needed to watch it to stop it sticking.
In the unlikely event it were to be eaten alone, (as is the custom in parts of Italy - children's school dinners for example - (and very sensible instead of pandering and providing all sorts of unsatisfactory food), you might be able to tell the difference in flavour. But here it's usually covered in some kind of meat, dressing or whatever.
.

That sounds interesting Segilla! I might try that out!
does it not go soggy or sticky?

The last time I heard 'al dente' was in Burford where an American woman was kicking up one hell of a fuss as the pasta was not done to her taste. She got the chef out and remonstrated with him.
i just read your post and agree that pasta soaked over night (or for a few hours when at the shops) is no different than cooked pasta it is freeze dried and the soaking just re infuses with water - save nergy and have non stick pasta - can always heat if you want it hot but great to start of soaking it i think

Many thanks for your support tweenyb!
The energy saving appeals very much. If you want it al dente, then experiment by not leaving it in too long.
