I reckon that any war of that type would be over a source of water [for drinking or otherwise] and, although there may have been skirmishes about this in the middle east, the only one I've ever heard or read about was in an Alan Dean Foster book where 2 tribes waged war over a water source on a monthly basis.
I seem to remember in history in school being told of the war of ' Jenkins' Ear' which started because some naval officer had his ear blown off , the only other reason wars seem to start is religious differences .
Not land, resources: wars are fought about resources or religion. That's it.
TW, I disagree: Wars over people fall into one or the other category as if the objective is to control more pople then those poeple are being viewed as a resource or are about to have a sudden change of faith.
